Zhengwei (Joe) Zhou, Tyler XianXian foundry manager, speaks to approximately 20 Chinese dignitaries about recent improvements through a new greensand molding line, baghouses, and building air supply system and new M1 greensand molding line and electric furnaces.

Tyler XianXian was asked by the local mayor to showcase the new greensand molding line (M1) and building air supply system to a group of Chinese dignitaries. Approximately 20 officials, including local and area mayors, vice-mayors, the Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau, stopped by Tyler XianXian to see the new M1 molding line, baghouses, and electric furnaces.

The M1 molding line is the first phase of a two-phased project with the second line, M2, currently under construction. M2 has a completion date scheduled for mid-December 2015. The total capital for the M1, M2, and air supply system is approximately $5 million or 30 million RMB.

The building air supply system will distribute approximately 700,000 cubic feet per minute of fresh air throughout the main foundry building. The M1 molding line has a production rate of 8 tons per day at 15 molds per hour, while the M2 molding line will have a production rate of 30 tons per day at 50 molds per hour.

Connected World Awards Recognizes Synapse Wireless Lighting Solutions + Kathryn Caspar Named One of the 2015 Women of M2M

Synapse Collected World Awards Collage

We are proud to announce that Synapse has once again been recognized for their patented lighting solutions. Connected World Awards recognized Synapse for two lighting installations designed for our McWane Ductile facilities in Ohio and New Jersey which experienced a 63% and 78% energy savings, respectively.

The Synapse wireless control system includes motion sensors which will turn lights on and off as team members enter and leave an area. Another benefit is that supervisors can check whether the lights are on or off from their tablet and make changes immediately from home. As you can imagine, this results in a tremendous savings.

Congratulations, Synapse team! Great job!

Synapse's Kathryn Caspar - 2015 Women of M2M HonorWe are also extremely proud to announce that Synapse’s Kathryn Caspar was honored at the recent Connected World Awards as one of the 2015 Women of M2M. Kathryn was recently promoted from General Manager to Vice President of Lighting at Synapse.

Kathryn currently leads Synapse’s intelligent lighting solutions group and oversees all sales, distribution channels, and product development. She formerly worked 12+ years with Cooper Industries (Eaton) where she served as the Director of Marketing and Product Management and oversaw new product development, marketing communications, and B2B sales initiatives with customers such as Sears and Amazon.com. Nighthawk Announces Manufacturing and Industrial Automation Sensor and Control Device

Nighthawk Logo_1

Nighthawk, the leader in Cellular Cloud M2M devices has released the MultiHAWK versatile manufacturing and industrial automation sensor and control device. It provides real-time monitoring of up to eight sensors and provides analytics, alarms, data logging and integration with existing control systems.

The device allows the capture of real-time and historical data from the field creating a valuable flow of two-way information enabling operational decisions that improve your bottom line. The MultiHAWK comes in a small weatherproof enclosure and works directly via the built in cellular connection with WebConnect™, Nighthawk’s award winning Cloud-based control application that comes bundled with the device.

The MultiHAWK family of devices uses cellular and mesh communications to reach locations previously out of reach. The MultiHAWK device allows for the connection of up to eight unique sensor inputs or seven with an optional power control circuit. For many users a single sensor type will provide all of the intelligence needed to achieve their goals. This flexibility allows the device to achieve the level of performance required at the lowest possible cost. These devices provide real-time visibility to the status of machines and processes. They provide the granularity of detail needed to maximize efficiencies and prevent costly downtime and equipment failure.

The device works with any combination of the ubiquitous array of 4-20 mA, digital sensors that dominate the sensor market providing an extremely wide variety of applications. The MultiHAWK takes its versatility a step further by providing an optional power control circuit that allows one to take action on the data being monitored directly or by the analytical rules set up in WebConnect.

WebConnect provides alerts and automated controls via the rules engine within the analytics software package. The WebConnect control portal allows one to log in from any device providing full access and reporting capabilities. The local system administrator can set up additional users and permissions.

This combination of a versatile manufacturing and industrial M2M wireless sensor and control device and the open interoperability offered by its cellular Cloud-based control system is what makes the MultiHAWK the most adaptable, easy to deploy, and cost effective solution for M2M needs.
