You Can Start Building Good Habits Today

Eating healthy can be easier than you think! You just replace a few unhealthy habits with healthy habits and you’re on your way to a happier healthier life. To encourage team members to make healthier lunch choices, the Mcwane Ductile Ohio Wellness Committee hosted Salad Day. Approximately 185 team members from all three shifts were invited to build their own salad from a wide variety of delicious fresh vegetables. Environmental and Safety interns got in on the fun by helping serve the first shift employees.

Manchester Tank Quincy Closes Entire Facility for Safety Day

On June 20, our Manchester Tank facility located in Quincy, Illinois suspended all production, shipping and receiving operations to focus solely on fostering a safe work environment. The event was a big hit with team members. “Our company cares about us so much, that they’re worried about our safety,” said employee Amy Graham. “They want to make sure we know from top to bottom what needs to be done, how to be safe and where you need to go if you don’t know.”

McWane Ductile New Jersey Holds First Annual Chili Cook-off!

Nothing tastes better than a warm bowl of homemade chili on a really cold day. Like soup, there are so many different recipes for chili. To showcase their own unique chili recipes, the McWane Ductile New Jersey (MDNJ) team held their 1st annual chili cook-off on February 12. Crock pots were placed in the training room and everyone had the opportunity to sample and vote for their top three picks.
Krista Trimmer was happy to hear that her chili had been voted #1 and she was awarded a $100 gift card. Juan Velasquez won second place and received a $75 gift card and Ray Stull won a $50 gift card for third place. The real winners in the event were all of the team members that got to enjoy the many delicious types of chili.
Congratulations to this year’s winners!

Do You Recognize This Runner?

Do you recognize this runner?

It’s our very own Faye Pettigrew, HR Manager at Tyler Pipe!  Every year Tyler Pipe participates in the FRESH 15 race sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Company.  It’s a favorite of the Tyler Pipe team and they always have a good turnout on race day.

Brookshire started the event to motivate the community and their employees to become healthier and it grew from there.  Unlike any other races, they give 100% of race revenue back to non-profit organizations.  Much like us, they firmly believe that motivating someone to get off the couch and move can change their life.

This race is a great way to support the local community and get healthy at the same time.  Good luck to this year’s Tyler participants!

Tyler Pipe holds 10th Annual Service Awards Banquet

Tyler Pipe is very fortunate and grateful to have so many loyal and dedicated team members.  In fact, 40% of their workforce has 25 years of service or more.  To honor this service, they held the 10th annual Service Awards Banquet, otherwise known as the Silver Anniversary Club.  The night was filled with games, prizes and great food and the Tyler Junior College Jazz Band entertained guests with music throughout the evening.

This year, they welcomed eight new members to the Silver Anniversary Club.

Thank you to everyone who participated and we look forward to celebrating again, same time next year!

Matheson Gas Treats Tyler Team to Some Good Ole Texas BBQ

On Tuesday, October 17, our friends from Matheson Gas treated the Tyler Pipe team to some good ole Texas BBQ. Matheson Gas has been in the Tyler area since 1977 and Tyler Pipe has been purchasing their gas and welding supplies almost from the beginning. To show their appreciation, Luke Porter and his team brought out their BBQ pit, serving tables & trough cooler and fed over 250 hungry Tyler Pipe team members.

As you can see from the pictures their set up is second to none. Luke said that Matheson Gas put the pit trailer together to travel around their supply area for appreciation events like the one at Tyler Pipe.
