Happy 59th Anniversary to Tyler Pipe’s James Madison!

Did you know that 2.5 million Americans quit their jobs every month? In fact, a majority of all turnover occurs in the first year of employment. But Tyler Pipe and Coupling team member James Madison would not agree with that statistic. James has been a Cupola Operator at Tyler Pipe in Tyler, Texas for 59 years. No, that’s not a typo; he has been a dedicated, hard working member of the Tyler Pipe team for 59 years.

Thank you, James, for your commitment and dedication for almost six decades. We appreciate your service and look forward to celebrating 60 next year.

Congratulations Charles Smith on 50 Years of Service at Tyler Union!

Charles Smith joined Tyler Union on May 23, 1968, shoveling sand and pushing a wheelbarrow on the Squeezer Line.  He then moved to the Alabama Core Room where they make shell cores and later worked on both British Molding Machines (BM1 and BM2) and the IBM, a molding machine which Tyler Union used for a brief time in the mid ‘80s.

Eventually Charles returned to the BM1 where he stayed for 30 years until the machine was removed and replaced with the IMF Fast Loop. He sets cores at the IMF now and says the automatic machines have made foundry work much easier than it was 50 years ago. To show our appreciation for his years of hard work and dedication, Charles and his co-workers were treated to breakfast from Cracker Barrel and of course cake.

Thanks Charles for being a integral part of the Tyler Union team!

Without our team members, we would not be able to fulfill our mission of being the world’s leading resource for water works products and premier place to work and do business, and providing the world with life sustaining water products though service and manufacturing excellence.

McWane Ductile Ohio Holds Intern/Co-op Appreciation Day

There has been a shortage of skilled workers in manufacturing for several years now, particularly in positions that require more than a high school diploma, but less than a four-year college degree.  One way to address this issue and introduce students to the opportunities available in manufacturing is through an internship program. These programs provide knowledge and hands-on experience which students can apply in real world environments.

On April 11, 2018, McWane Ductile Ohio (MDO) celebrated Intern/Co-op Appreciation Day. These interns are a valuable member of the MDO team and we appreciate the work they have done on several very dynamic projects.

Clow Corona’s Got Talent, Too!

Speaking of the talents at Futurecom team member Milos Rankovic and not to be outdone, Clow Corona production supervisor, Jose Martinez, also created a new company sign.  This sign was made with a stainless-steel plate and back lit with LED lighting.  It is now proudly displayed on the exterior of the facility in Corona, California to welcome customers and guests as they drive through the front gates. Jose is currently working on a smaller display sign for the sales office.

Thanks, Jose, for your time and creativity in making this beautiful sign!
