Clow Corona’s Got Talent, Too!

Speaking of the talents at Futurecom team member Milos Rankovic and not to be outdone, Clow Corona production supervisor, Jose Martinez, also created a new company sign.  This sign was made with a stainless-steel plate and back lit with LED lighting.  It is now proudly displayed on the exterior of the facility in Corona, California to welcome customers and guests as they drive through the front gates. Jose is currently working on a smaller display sign for the sales office.

Thanks, Jose, for your time and creativity in making this beautiful sign!

Futurecom Team’s Got Talent!

When he’s not working, Futurecom engineering team member Milos Rankovic enjoys his favorite hobby of woodworking. Milos is always looking for a new project and came up with an idea for a new sign for the front lobby at Futurecom. Not only is the sign beautiful, it is made using reclaimed wood from pallets at work and a few LED lights.

Tyler Union Strong

Tyler Union recently worked with a customer on a job in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania that required six 30” FLG Tees with a 16” Side Outlet.  This is the first time Tyler Union had produced this size, but with the ability to do short cycle tooling at the IMF Side Floor, they were able to fill this order for West View Water Authority.

Pacific States and Tyler Union Donate to USS Iowa

Modern McWane Summer 2014 - Page 7 ArticleHave you read the latest edition of Modern McWane yet? If so, you probably saw the article on page 7 about McWane’s involvement in the permanent home of the USS Iowa. If not, read ahead for a portion of this interesting story!

Through the Engineering Contractors’ Association (ECA), Pacific States and Tyler Union made donations of ductile iron pipe to the USS Iowa. This donation went toward the final phase of the USS Iowa’s permanent home at the Los Angeles Harbor.

Though now a battleship museum, the USS Iowa once hosted presidents, first ladies, and many other dignitaries during nearly 50 years of service. With that being said, we are delighted that our ductile iron pipe is a part of this national treasure!

McWane Pipe Used to Replace Bridge

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Recently, McWane’s ductile iron pipe was installed to replace a 300-foot-long bridge near Hanceville, Alabama (Cullman County). For the job, the types of pipe used were 695 feet of 10-inch Tyton Joint Class 350 – Cement Lined, and 636 feet of 12-inch TR Flex Class 350 – Cement Lined.

Ironically, the bridge that was being replaced also used McWane Tyton pipe and had been lain over 20 years ago!

The bridge approaches on State Route 91 at the Broglen River, northeast of Hanceville. So, if you are ever in that area, think of McWane and remember that our pipes successful helped make that bridge possible!
